Medieval festival at Mornas (Vaucluse) 04.07.2010

If you have enjoyed this short article, you can visit my two first blogs:    and:      If you don’t read French, have a look anyway at some photos among more than 1000. Look also at the Archives, on top of the page. Please write me there:

Last year, we went already to the Mornas medieval festival (see HERE, in French), but to-day we are keeping our own stall and we are presenting all day long the former techniques of wool handicraft.

Sylvie practises all those techniques, from the raw fleece to the finished products: carding, spinning, plying, knitting and weaving. She displays and sells her artistic items: skeins, clothes, bags and decoration objects. For more details, see THERE, in French). We both can show for nothing how it works but I don’t make products and I don’t sell. So we card, spin and weave all day long according to the former techniques. Lots of people are interested and ask questions but few purchase. Perhaps the hot weather is not very suitable to sell wool items.

From time to time, I go and see the processions and shows, in order to bring you back a few pics.

Albeit tiring, this day was pleasant and we’ll keep good memories about it. You’ll be able to see us again at Mazan’s great festival, the ‘Carri’, on the 18th of July.      Huberaime
