Summers are long and pretty hot in our region, and autumn is still rather a long way ahead. It’s now the beginning of wine harvest and pleasant weather is expected up to the middle of October at least, with possible thundery rains.
In Courthézon village, this mural represents the street that it ornates, idealizing the former times, before those of the graffiti, the ‘street art’ and the tangled electric wires. Mount Ventoux is painted in the background, although actually situated right opposite the observer’s point of view. Between the stallholders’ display, old collection cars look smart and stylish. The red colour on this green model comes from reflections from a firemen’s old truck and another red car.
The ‘Autumn Festival’ rather looks like a carnival, with music, fantasy and colourful processions.
Horses have the place of honour.
At night, the expected fireworks display was cancelled because of the strong wind. Let me show you a few pics of the one of July 2007 at Courthézon. The well lit old castle is a very suitable foreground. Huberaime
