On the occasion of the medieval festival, we put up our stall about spinning (see HERE) once again, this time at Monieux, little village located near Sault, in Vaucluse département, up the gorges of the Nesque. The ‘petit épeautre’ is a kind of wheat, traditional here along with the lavender which turns blue the country in early summer.

The beginning of the morning is cool and quiet.

From time to time, I go and see the processions and stalls to be able to show you a few pics. It’s no use chattering and I let you admire.

Like all the other Provençal villages, Monieux owns old, narrow and winding streets, with stone houses and quaint little shops.

From the small square in front of the church, a fine view stretches on the plateau and Sault, its modest capital (See THERE) that zooming makes appear closer. To see an article about last year’s outstanding issue of this festival, click HERE.               Huberaime
