Winter is going to settle down on Provence soon. Let me show you a few more photos with autumn warm colours.

To-day, we go for a stroll in Malemort-du-Comtat countryside.

Here are two views of Malemort. On the second pic, you can behold Blauvac village behind the ridge, standing on its hill and overlooking the whole area.

Malemort church displays a carved inscription on its west façade pediment that reads ‘THE FRENCH PEOPLE ACKNOWLEDGES THE SUPREME BEING AND SOUL IMMORTALITY’. It dates back Robespierre’s dictatorship, during the French Revolution. After the short-lived system turning out of office, this motto was wiped out wherever it had been carved, so very few genuine inscriptions like this one remain. I suppose Malemort’s was not scratched but merely coated, and uncovered after a long time.

On its rock, Méthamis is a rather impressive village, stiffly and proudly dominating its countryside.

Here is another view of Méthamis, seen from the Sault road.

On the south slope of a hill, La Roque-sur-Pernes is comfortably sheltered in the sun. We now hope winter will sometime don its best clothes for us, that’s to say show itself in its snow mantle once or twice (See HERE).           Huberaime
